Skytober (October) 2022
2022 was the year of remembering how to draw...
When thatgamecompany posted their list of Skytober prompts it seemed like a good reason to draw more frequently... even if it was just a doodle shared with one friend. The image quality is all over the place. All I have are the quick photos I took of pencil sketches.
Anyway, this isn't everything from that month. I did actually do a drawing a day but, well, these are the ones I felt like sharing.

1 - Abyss
This one isn't good but it was kinda funny.
Most of my memories of Season of Abyss are like this. Hiding in corners and swearing as much as the game's chat filters would allow.
4 - Camping
We recieved this little tent prop over the summer holidays.
This was before the shared spaces update so putting this many props together to make a campsite wasn't possible yet.
These three (made up) skykids reoccur throughout Skytober.
5 - Shattering
I adored Season of Shattering, though it didn't feel very popular at the time. I loved the eerie silence of the memory spaces.
The eight-pointed symbol in the sky in the elder memory... please...
...can we pick up that thread again...
6 - Baby Jellies
A tiny doodle day. Looking back to Days of Sunlight.
7 - Skykids
The three skykids from the camping sketch.
The heights are a bit exagerrated but I really like how newer players are usually the most "average" sized players -- veterans of the game usually end up choosing to exist at the extremes.
In this doodle I was imagining that the tiny established player was guiding the group into the out-of-bounds.

12 - New Friend
A more ambitious drawing day. Reflecting on being a new player and seeing (often taller) decadently dressed other players.
(Now I'm the established player with fancy clothes and I'm the same oblivious creature bonking into walls that I've ever been.)

13 - Free Day
A celebration of the game's three 'Jellyfish' hairstyles.
14 - Lazy Times
Skykid trio back again.
Candle running and chilling in the Treehouse.
15 - Underwater
I like the look of the oxygen plants. Color sketch from sometime later.
16 - Turtle | 17 - Island Sunset
A two-day two-parter 🐢
I'm a huge fan of the 'creature' themed items anyway, but the Prophet of Water's turtle mask and cape are near and dear to me.
(I don't have the Nature Turtle Cape, but I like seeing it around.)
The Days of Nature turtle arrives at Sanctuary Island.
(The fanclub is thrilled.)
18 - Krill
'Krill' is one of the english-speeking player terms for the Dark Dragons. They're much bigger than real krill, but people love wordplay.
(These things will krill you!)
I think I had the visuals of their exoskeletal panels that were visible in Season of Shattering in mind when I drew this. Somehow it turned into another kind of bones.
20 - With Grandma | 21 - Fireworks
"Grandma" is the Guide Spirit from Season of Belonging.
The majority of the spirits in the game are referred to in non-gendered terms. But, well, Grandma has become a special exception.
(Grandma's rocking she/they now maybe?)
They knit warm things for us around the Days of Feast in December and feed us snacks (wax) at the Ancestor's Table in the Hidden Forest.
And on that subject... please stop using fireworks inside during the ancestor's table event....

I was still waiting patiently for the Dancing Performer's cape at this point...
24 - Gondala Riding
(Or not, as the case may be.)
A friend with a white candle saves a lot of trouble.
26 - Ruins
Playing with imagery from 2022's Halloween event.
27 - First Flight
Looking back on my first flight in-game with Jesse who had been my friend for a decade at that point.
We had each started playing Sky on our own a few weeks apart (Him at the end of Assembly, me at the start of Little Prince).
We began playing together during Season of Flight, which opened up the Wind Paths... and many new ways for us to spend time with each other.
